Senior Engineers or Applied Scientists in Quantum Technologies

Quantum Valley Ideas Lab is a not-for-profit applied research institution focused on cutting-edge research and development of quantum technologies. Quantum Valley Ideas Lab is tackling the ambitious goal of accelerating quantum technologies from proof-of-concept to real-world commercializable solutions. We are searching for an experimental engineer or applied physicist to fill a technical staff position.

We are interested in hiring candidates who want to work on a team and have a passion for application-driven R&D. A doctoral degree in electrical engineering, computer science, optics, physics or a closely related field, and an outstanding publication record are preferred. Postdoctoral and/or industrial work experience is desired, but not necessary. Outstanding candidates without a doctoral degree, but relevant work experience will be considered. The successful applicant will work under a project lead with other staff scientists and engineers. Preferred skills of particular interest are: complex control problems; AI programming with an emphasis on complex control problems; FPGA programming; high frequency signal processing; electromagnetics; and radar engineering. A demonstrated ability to successfully work in a close team environment is required. We value inquisitiveness and creative problem solving above all. Applicants do not have to have experience in all the desired areas, but should emphasize interests and relevant experience in their application. Two positions are available and the candidates will be selected to span the preferred skills.
