Engineers or Applied Scientists in Quantum Technologies

Quantum Valley Ideas Lab is a not-for-profit applied research institution focused on cutting-edge research and development of quantum technologies. Quantum Valley Ideas Lab is tackling the ambitious goal of accelerating quantum technologies from proof-of-concept to real-world commercializable solutions. We are searching for experimental engineers and applied physicists to fill technical staff positions.

We are interested in hiring candidates who want to work on a team and have a passion for application-driven R&D. Candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, optics or a closely related field. Additional experience, such as work in the advanced technology sector or a Master’s degree obtained through laboratory research, is preferred. The successful applicant will work under a project lead and other staff scientists and engineers. Preferred skills of particular interest are: optics; complex control problems; fiber optics; FPGA programming; CAD design and modelling; fabrication, including clean room experience; high frequency signal processing, electromagnetics and electronics. A demonstrated ability to successfully work in a close team environment is required. We value inquisitiveness and creative problem solving above all. Four positions are available. Applicants do not have to have experience in all of these areas, but should emphasize interests and relevant experience in their application. A set of four candidates will be selected to cover the range of skills needed.
